Minutes of Meeting held May 4, 2010

A regular meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on May 4, 2010 in the first floor
conference room at the Town Hall. A Notice of Meeting was duly posted. The meeting
commenced at 5:00 p.m. In attendance were John Duffy and John Palmer, a majority of
the members of the Board. John Duffy presided and John Palmer kept the minutes. Also
in attendance were Robert Bushway, Principal Assessor and Steven McCarthy, Deputy
Assessor.
The minutes of the regular meeting of April 16, 2010 and special meeting of April 22,
2010 were approved.
The Board reviewed and signed a Bills Payable Warrant in the amount of $255.48.
The Board reviewed, approved and signed the monthly Report of Abatements and
Exemptions for April 2010. The total amount of taxes abated or exempted was
$12,115.87.
The Board reviewed and signed a chapter land roll -back tax form for a small parcel on
Lumber Street owned by the Framingham Sportsman Association.
The Board discussed a Town Meeting proposal that would incorporate all personnel pay
and benefit provisions for "Salary Administration Plan Employees" into a personnel
handbook. Under the proposal, future changes to the handbook provisions would be
made by Town officials without approval at a town meeting.
Mr. Bushway reported that Mr. McCarthy had been offered and has accepted a position in
the Assessing Department with the Town of Wrentham. Mr. Bushway and the Board
thanked Mr. McCarthy for his service to the Town of Hopkinton and wished him well in
his new position. The Board discussed the need to find a replacement for Mr. McCarthy.
The next meeting was scheduled for May 18, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
