HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-8296 Adopting Robert's Rules of Order Sponsored by: City Manager Resolution No. 11-8296 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, NAMING OFFICERS TO THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND ADOPTING ROBERT'S RULES OF ORDER (NEWLY REVISED) AS RULES OF PROCEDURE; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on June 8, 2011, the City Commission adopted Resolution No.11-8238, to create a Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and to appoint the members of the City of Commission to serve as the Board of the CRA; and WHEREAS, the City Commission must appoint the officers of the Community Redevelopment Agency: WHEREAS,the City Commission desires to adopt Robert's Rules of Order(Newly Revised) as the rules for the Community Redevelopment Agency(CRA), except to the extent that the City Commission adopts additional procedures which supersede provisions of Robert's Rules of Order. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby names Commissioner Gail E. Miller, as Chair, and Vice Mayor Dorothy Johnson as Vice-Chair of the Community Redevelopment Agency. Resolution No. 11-8296 Section 3. The City Commission hereby adopts Robert's Rules of Order(Newly Revised) as the rules for the CRA,except to the extent that the City Commission adopts additional procedures which supersede provisions of Robert's Rules of Order.
