HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-8310 Holiday In the Park Give-Away Sponsored by: Vice-Mayor Johnson Resolution No. 11-8310 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($7,000.00) FOR A "HOLIDAY IN THE PARK TOY GIVE- AWAY" TO BE HELD DECEMBER 17, 2011, TO GO TOWARDS THE 9TH ANNUAL "HOLIDAY IN THE PARK TOY GIVE-AWAY" EVENT, AND PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER 79-579402; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, out of a desire to foster good will and assist children who may not be able to experience holiday joy during these tough economic times, Vice-Mayor Dorothy "Dottie" Johnson desires to sponsor a "Holiday in the Park Toy Give-Away" to be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011; and WHEREAS, in order to adequately fund the desired and worthwhile event, Vice-Mayor Dorothy "Dottie" Johnson is requesting that the City of Opa-locka Commission authorize the expenditure of Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) toward the City event for the toy give-away, the 9th Annual "Holiday in the Park Toy Give-Away" event. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes the expenditures of Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) for the 9th Annual "Holiday in the Park Toy Give-Away" event to be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011, payable from Account Number 79-579402.
