RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2009 CDBG PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has been allocated $101,700.00 from the
Middlesex County Housing and Development Program for the 2009 CDB year;
and
WHEREAS, a pl!blic hearing was held on Friday, February 3, 2009 to solicit
comments and recommendations from the residents of the Borough of Carteret;
and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Board has had the opportunity to
discuss the proposals with the Mayor and Council and representatives to the
Middlesex County Housing Community Development Program; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Community Development Board that the
following programs meet the guidelines of the Citizen's Participation,List of
Eligible Activities:
Using Agency
Small Business rvfatching Grant
Women/Minority
2009 Carteret CDGB Proposals
Project
Carteret Small Bus Program
Amount
$15,700.00
Carteret Community Health & Weliness Canst $50,000.00
Development Program
Carteret Recreation & Parks Carteret Park Basketball! $21,000.00
Tennis Courts Rehab
Kiddie Keep Well Camp Camp for Disadvantaged $1,000.00
Carteret Community Youth & Police Academy $7,000.00
Development Program Kids at Risk
Senior Outreach $7,000.00
$101,700.00,
\VHEREAS, as the above programs were unanimously approved by the
Community Development Board at a Public Hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret hereby consent to the submission of the above named
proposals.
