HomeMy Public PortalAbout020_Leadership Tybee proclamation CITY OF TYBEE ISLAND PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, leadership skills constitute a fundamental building block for the future growth of any community, WHEREAS, finding and encouraging enthusiastic participants in the community is another important method for insuring community growth, WHEREAS, the Fanning Institute, which has a long tradition of promoting leadership education in Georgia communities, and decided to bestow a grant upon the City of Tybee Island for such a purpose, WHEREAS, a committee of concerned citizens and city staff took it upon themselves to build a comprehensive course plan and recruit individuals from the City to participate in such a program, WHEREAS, the participants graduated on January 31, 2011 by completing their coursework and presenting their projects, namely “Visual Pollution Reduction”, “Post Theater Fun-Raiser”, “Silent Sports on Tybee”, “Parking on Tybee”. NOW, THEREFORE, I, JASON BUELTERMAN, Mayor of the City of Tybee Island, Georgia, do hereby proclaim the members of the first Leadership Tybee graduating class: David McNaughton, Amy Gaster, Sadie Gaster, Dale Williams, Fawn Smiley, Kim Wilson, Jonathan Lynn, Greg Stoeffler, and Robert Bryson are hereby acknowledged as exemplary candidates for future leadership for the community, and express gratitude to these participants for the work they have done for the island community. In Witness Whereof, I have here unto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Tybee Island, Georgia to be affixed this 24th day of February 2011. Mayor Jason Buelterman
