WHEREAS, the adoption of Resolution No. 3837 will renew the contract with
CIGNA Healthcare that was previously authorized by Ordinance No. 14834, adopted December
14, 2017, which authorized the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Cigna Healthcare for medical
benefits for the District’s employees and family members; and
WHEREAS, said contract will expire December 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District desires to exercise its
option to renew said contract through the end of calendar year 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT THAT, the Executive Director and
Secretary-Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District
to exercise the District’s option to renew said contract through the end of calendar year 2023 with
Cigna Healthcare, whereby Cigna Healthcare would provide medical benefits for the District’s
employees and family members, said contract renewal shall be comprised of such terms and
conditions as are approved by the Office of the General counsel of the District.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted on May 11, 2023.
