March 2023 UPDATES TO LPSSDR
Purpose The purpose of this memorandum is to summarize the updates that were made to the
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) Low Pressure Sewer System Design Requirements
(LPSSDR) in December 2022. Section 1-INTRODUCTION

• Added additional information that isolation structures are required at change of ownership. 1.02.A.5
• Updated maximum pipe diameter to 10”

• Added additional information on new valve junction boxes tying into existing systems.

• Added a note about cleaning the forcemain. 1.03.2
• Added additional information noting that the LPSS owner will be responsible for
properly sizing. Also added information for responsibilities post construction. 1.04.3
• Added a new section for tie in to existing public pump station forcemains.

• Added a note that the ARI valve must be for wastewater use only. Certain valves

• Removed 3M Tracer Rope and replaced it with the updated 3M locator tape.
