HomeMy Public PortalAboutLPSSDR Update Changes June 2023 Updates to LPSS 1 Metropolitan Saint Louis Sewer District Requirements March 2023 March 2023 UPDATES TO LPSSDR Purpose The purpose of this memorandum is to summarize the updates that were made to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) Low Pressure Sewer System Design Requirements (LPSSDR) in December 2022. Section 1-INTRODUCTION 1.02.A.3 • Added additional information that isolation structures are required at change of ownership. 1.02.A.5 • Updated maximum pipe diameter to 10” 1.02.A.6 • Added additional information on new valve junction boxes tying into existing systems. 1.02.A.7 • Added a note about cleaning the forcemain. 1.03.2 • Added additional information noting that the LPSS owner will be responsible for properly sizing. Also added information for responsibilities post construction. 1.04.3 • Added a new section for tie in to existing public pump station forcemains. Section 2-PLAN REVIEW SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS 2.1.B.2 • Added additional information for common FM connections. Section 3-PUMP STATION AND FORCE MAIN CRITERIA 3.1.C.1 • Added additional information about ultimate flow and concerns with odor with staggered developments. • Section 4-Piping and Valves 4.1.A.1 • Added and larger 4.1.B.1 • Added and larger Updates to LPSS 2 Metropolitan Saint Louis Sewer District Requirements March 2023 4.2.A • Added a note that the ARI valve must be for wastewater use only. Certain valves in their catalogue are for clean water only. 4.2.C • Added addition information on connections to existing forcemain systems and who to contact for those connections. 4.2.I • Removed 3M Tracer Rope and replaced it with the updated 3M locator tape. 4.2.J • Added an approved vendor for the tracer wire. 4.4.A.7 • Added a note that for valves larger than 4” to use the PSDR as a reference\ 4.4.C • Section 5-SUBMITTALS, INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS 5. • Increased notification to forty-eight hours 5.2.A.7-9 • Added a contact note for the final inspection. • Added a note that any deficiencies found during the inspection will be provided via a list • Added a note that as part of the As-Built process the designer must include x,y coordinates for the locator balls. MSD operation will mark the locations in the field. 5.2.B • Added a note to provide a complete set of CAD and PFD as-builts on Accela 5.4 • Added additional information on the acceptance process and final dedication.
