Every water service offered in north county or St. Louis city, the rates are typically much higher. The service that we get it's much lower, non-existent. MSD has gotten tons of money and they have yet to make any kind of improvement in North County. They don't deserve another rate hike. How we go from paying quarterly to paying monthly? and steal the services of the poor. My name is Tawrence Cademy, my home is in Jennings, Missouri. Thank you.” Date:June 17 - 12:31 pm Caller information:Unknown Transcript:“I feel like the sewer bill should be married up with the water bill. We have tenants and houses especially if you have a tenant that uses a lot of water and the landlord has to pay the sewer bill because nothing's cut off or turned off if the tenant does not pay the sewer bill versus if it was married together with the water bill. Of course if they're behind the sewer bills then the water bill, the water can be shut off. So that's my biggest hope especially on rental houses for landlords and more fairness for the landlord-tenant agreement. That they carry the two, the water bill with the sewer bill. The consequences being as sewer bills are not paid the water would be shut off. Could that be possible? Sewer bills are just - several years ago when I say several about eight, nine years ago I was paying $18 a month for a sewer bill. Now I'm paying like $80 a month. It just seems like the money isn't budgeted appropriately with all the money that's been poured into Project Clear like the $3.9 billion project. It doesn't seem like money is being spent efficiently and all these increases in rates and increases water bills but most of the sewer bills are unreal. That's all I have to say thank you Date:June 26 - 7:07 am Caller information:Unknown Transcript:“Good morning in regards to the pending rate hike which I understand we need for this aging infrastructure that we are stuck with. I mean I live in a community in the county and my particular subdivision probably is about 70, 75 years old. So that's the sewer system for us. The one problem, maybe that I would approach from this angle is the fact that those of us who are retired on fixed incomes, these rate hikes hit the pocketbook harder, maybe even those who are working. So I really wanted to just say keep this in mind. Offer possibly discounts or Exhibit RC 98 something for the senior citizens that are caught in this kind of catch 22 We have to have the improvements that we as again I said who are on the fixed incomes can't really afford to have this continue to rise.Everything else raises and you know your budget you start thinking Where do you cut?So I just wanted to bring that to your attention.Technically I could handle it to a certain degree. But I understand that if it keeps going up,it gets harder and harder to work that into the budget. So thank you so much and have a wonderful day.Bye.”
