RESOLUTION NO. 12-8353
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA TO SUPPORT
THE INCLUSION OF FUNDS IN THE ANNUAL
BUDGET FROM THIS DAY FORTH, FOR THE
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR DAY WALK;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, over the years individuals have fought hard for civil rights, and to establish
the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a holiday, and to make it a day of service; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka supports the meaningful
effort behind Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and encourages community service projects; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to include funds for
the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Walk to be written into the Annual Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, hereby supports inclusion
of funds to be written into the Annual Budget from this day forth, in support of the Martin Luther
King, Jr. Day Walk.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of March, 2012.
