AN ORDINANCE, making an appropriation of One Million Five Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for combined
sewer construction in Sutherland Lansdowne Combined Sewer Replacement (13665) in the City
of St. Louis, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf
of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 53004 with Bates Utility
Company Inc. for combined sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said combined sewer construction is One Million Three
Hundred Forty Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($1,340,600.00) and the allowance for construction
change orders and other project expenses is One Hundred Fifty-Nine Thousand Four Hundred
Dollars ($159,400.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars
($1,500,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for combined sewer
construction in Sutherland Lansdowne Combined Sewer Replacement (13665) in the City of St.
Louis, Missouri; said contract being comprised of such terms and conditions as have been
approved by the Office of the General Counsel of the District.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 53004
with Bates Utility Company Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder for combined sewer construction
in Sutherland Lansdowne Combined Sewer Replacement (13665) in the City of St. Louis,
Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 6th day of July, 2023.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 14, 2023.
