RESOLUTION NO. 12-8355
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA SUPPORTING THE
CHOICE NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE (CNI)
APPLICATION AND TRANSFORMATION PLAN BEING
SUBMITTED BY THE OPA-LOCKA COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT CORP.; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka City Commission strongly supports the Opa-locka
Community Development Corporation's (CDC) Choice Neighborhood Initiative (CNI) application;
and
WHEREAS, to successfully implement the Transformation Plan, applicants will need to
work with public and private agencies, organizations, and individuals to gather, and leverage
resources needed to support the financial sustainability of the plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka declares its support for the
Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI) Application and Transformation Plan being submitted by
Opa-locka CDC.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, hereby declares its support
for the Choice Neighborhood Initiative (CNI) Application and Transformation Plan being
submitted by Opa-locka CDC.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Short Title:

Staff Summary:
The Opa-locka Community Development Corporation has requested that the City of Opa-locka pass a
resolution supporting the CNI and the recommendations of the Transformation Plan for the
neighborhood affected.
Proposed Action:
Staff Recommends Approval of the proposed Resolution.
