AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING CHAPTER 17
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON PERTAINING TO PROCEDURES AND
GROUNDS FOR REVOCATION OF A BUSINESS LICENSE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1 .Chapter 17(Licenses,Taxation and Miscellaneous Business Regulations),
Section 29 (Revocation of License), of the Code of the City of Jefferson is amended as
follows:
Sec.17-29.Revocation of license.
Any license issued to any person who has made a statement showing an incorrect annual gross
receipts bracket for the preceding license year or who has Imowi ngly made a false statement as to any other
condition or factor upon which a license should be based,or who is licensed under any of the provisions
of this article and shall be convicted of a misdemeanorfor violating any of the provisions of such sections
or any other provisions of this Code or other ordinances of the city relating to the conduct or operation of
such business,or when such license has become delinquent for more than 30 days,or when a licensee
fails to provide proof that the license holder is not delinquent in any sales tax to the Citv or the State
of Missouri within 10 days of request by the Finance Department, may be revoked by the City
Administrator or his designee city-eeencil, upon notice and hearing,
in accordance with the hearing procedures found in
Section 1-21 of the Code.The City Administrator or his designee Emincil may revoke any business
license issued pursuant to this Code, upon notice and hearing, if the City Administrator Council
determines that the business has failed to pay any tax of any kind due the State of Missouri or the City of
Jefferson or if otherwise required by Missouri Statute. A new license shall not be issued to any person
whose license has been revoked within a period crone year from the date or revocation of such license.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage and approval.
