RESOLUTION NO. 12-8362
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER
TO PROVIDE INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS IN SUPPORT
OF NEW HOUSING, BASED ON THE CITY INFRASTRUCTURE
IMPROVEMENT PLAN, AS PART OF THE TRANSFORMATION
PLAN FOR THE CHOICE NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE (CNI)
APPLICATION; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka City Commission strongly supports the Opa-locka
Community Development Corporation's (CDC) Choice Neighborhood Initiative (CNI) application;
and
WHEREAS, infrastructure improvements, to provide support for new housing within the
Nile Gardens area, with particular interest on water and sewer initiatives, will be based on the City's
current Infrastructure Improvement Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to provide such
infrastructure improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, hereby authorizes the City
Manager to provide infrastructure improvements for new housing within the Nile Gardens
area, with particular emphasis on water and sewer initiatives, in accordance with the City's
current Infrastructure Improvement Plan.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Staff Summary:
The Opa-locka Community Development Corporation has requested that the City of Opa-locka pass a
resolution directing the City Manager to provide infrastructure improvements in support for new
housing within the affected area based on the City's current Infrastructure Improvement Plan.
