RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SENATE BILL S-2266 RECOVERING CERTAIN
COSTS AND FEES FROM ABC LICENSES CHARGED WITH VIOLATIONS
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 82260 co-sponsored by Senators Joseph Vitale and Jim Whelan
pennits municipal issuing authorities to assess and retain certain costs and attorneys fees
incurred by municipal issuing authorities pursuing disciplinary charges against alcoholic
beverage licensees charged with violations; and
\VHEREAS, 8-2266 would enable municipalities to recoup some of the monies spent on
prosecution of these disciplinary charges; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, that the Mayor and Municipal Clerk hereby urge the New Jersey
State Legislatures to enact 8-2266 into law to permit municipalities to recover certain
costs and fees from alcoholic beverage licensees charged with violations; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOL YED, that the Municipal Clerk forward certified copies of
this Resolution to the Senate President and Assembly Speaker for dissemination to their
respective houses and William Dressel, Executive Director of the New Jersey League of
Municipalities.
