CALL TO ORDER CITY COUNCIL TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA SPECIAL MEETING DECEMBER 12, 2013 AGENDA ITEM ?.A-4 Mayor Sternquist called the Special City Council meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. in the Longden Elementary School Memoli Hall located at 9501 Wendon Street, Temple City. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Absent: Also Present: Councilmember-Yu, Blum and Sternquist Councilmember-Chavez and Vizcarra City Manager Pulido, City Clerk Kuo, Administrative Services Director Hause and Community Development Director 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS -None 4. NEW BUSINESS A. DISCUSSION OF CURRENT INITIATIVES AND PRIORITIES FOR TH E CITY'S STRATEGIC PLAN (Make TC Happen) The City Council and staff are currently laying out a schedule of tasks and goals for Temple City, also known as a Strategic Plan, for the next 15 to 20 years and its top priorities for the next three to five years. The goals for the City will cover topics such as parks and trees, economic development, and land use planning. Mayor Sternquist gave a brief introduction and spoke briefly on the goals of tonight's meeting. Jennifer Lilley, Lilley Group President-City's Strategic Plan consultant, gave a brief summary of the November 21 meeting and reported on the top five community concerns (i.e., creative partnerships between the City and local school districts; re-energized Downtown; empowered neighborhoods; innovative recreation programing; and information, engagement, transparency) identified by the stakeholders during that meeting. City Council Minutes December 12, 2013 Page 2 Community stakeholders were divided into five groups to discuss ideas and suggestions on how City can best address the community's top five issues. Mayor Sternquist left the meeting at 8:20 p.m. 5. ADJOURNMENT The City Council Special Meeting was adjourned at 8:20p.m. Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk
