City Attorney Martin advised that adoption of Ordinance No. 81 -500
would be based on Council's findings that a definite problem is posed
by persons sleeping in automobiles which are parked along the public
streets within the City; the Sheriff's Department has reported
innumerable incidents of persons disturbing residential areas and
creating anxiety, residential neighborhoods disturbed by this ac-
tivity thereupon call the police to report a suspicious vehicle in
the area; and in addition, persons who are parked in developed areas
become a target for petty body bandit gangs, thus requiring the
Sheriff to advise the sleeping occupant of the automobile to move
along. City Attorney Martin introduced Ordinance No. 81 -500 AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ADDING SECTION 4115 TO THE
TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE for second reading by title only.

concerning item pricing of groceries.

potential solution by surveying the residents through the Newsletter
so that people can let City Council know their feelings. If input
indicates a public need throughout the community, Council could
reconsider its position.
Councilman Tyrell advised he had met with Patti Bates and discussed
this idea, but he does not feel the survey should be limited to this
one item, and he has asked her to prepare a list of possible
questions and submit to Council, and then a separate page would be
.included in the Newsletter which will be published in March.

are wrestling with this same problem.
