SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETING OF
DECEMBER 18, 2013
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of December 18, 2013.
BACKGROUND:
On December 18, 2013, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the December 18, 2013 Parks and
Recreation Commission meeting:

Present: Commissioner -Lopez, Rosso, Vice-Chairman Haddad, Chairman
Georgi no
Absent: Commissioner -None
Excused: Commissioner-Fish
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes from their Regular
Meeting of October 16, 2013 and the Special Meeting of November 20, 2013, and
received and filed the monthly reports for October and November 2013 .

4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMATEUR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
(TCASA) TO WAIVE THE 51% RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR
THE 2014 SEASON
The Commission approved the request.
B. DISCUSSION AND CONSIDERATION OF A FOUNTAIN IN TEMPLE CITY
PARK
The Commission discussed the installation of a fountain in Temple City Park
and recommended installation of a fountain be considered at a later date as
part of a Temple City Park Master Plan.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A . The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's
Report for December, 2013.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and fi le this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14 City Budget.
