AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
DECOTIIS, FITZPATRICK, COLE & WISLER, LLP
\VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, ("Borough"), is in need of specialized legal
services in regard to tax appeals and special litigation matters; and
\VHEREAS, DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & \Visler, LLP possess the requisite skill and
expertise to provide such specialized legal services; and
\VHEREAS, the Law Director of the Borough of Carteret has recommended the
appointment of DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Wisler, LLP to defend the Borough of
Carteret at a cost not to exceed $50,000.00; and
\VHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, that Deeotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Wisler, LLP hereby appointed as special
counsel to defend the Borough of Carteret in the above described matters at a cost not to
exceed $50,000.00; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appointment is made as a professional services
contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:I 1-5(1)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and
Open Process as authorized by law.
