REGULAR ITEM
1. FY 2002-03 BUDGET WORKSHOP.
Comments:
At the April 18, 2002 Special Lynwood Redevelopment Agency Meeting,
staff presented athree-year projection of all funds based upon current
expenditure level. Based on this analysis, the General Fund will be in
deficit in FY 2003-2004 fiscal year if current levels of expenditure are
maintained. Given that scenario, the preparation for the proposed FY
2002-2003 budget needs to take into consideration reducing cost and
increasing revenue in order to forestall a deficit.
This meeting marks the second budget workshop meant to provide the
Lynwood Redevelopment Agency an opportunity to hear from each
Department relative to their current programs, activities, and tasks and to
provide the City Manager an opportunity to receive guidance from the
Lynwood Redevelopment Agency on which programs, activities, and tasks
to expand, delete, modify or introduce in the proposed budget.
The following Departments and offices will provide the Lynwood
Redevelopment Agency with an overview of their divisions and services:
Legislative
City Manager
Finance and Administration
Community development
Environmental Services
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that The Lynwood Redevelopment Agency receive the
presentation and provide staff with guidance to be used in developing the
proposed FY 2002-03 Budget.
