MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY 1/12/10/7:30PM
In attendance:
John Mosher, Gino Spinelli, Nancy Dourney, Frank D’Urso, Matthew Marshquist, John Carroll,
Ria McNamara, Scott Richardson, Andy Boyce, Margo Roman, Ann Randall, Aubrey Doyle
o Minutes from 12/22/09 meeting approved.
o Voted John Mosher to continue as Committee Chair, Ria McNamara to continue as Vice
Chair, and Aubrey Doyle to continue as Secretary.
o Gino to get Planning Board presentation to our website. Aubrey will distribute
presentation to all committee members.
o Green Communities
o This Thursday (January 14) at 7 PM in Room 211 of the Town Hall, there will be a
meeting to discuss the Green Communities activities. Katie Resnick is the engineer
assigned by the state who will be providing assistance for us regarding what items we
can go after and how we go about doing that. Katie will be giving an overview of the
program, the criteria and how to meet the criteria. John will be chairing the meeting.
The 90 day window for submittal for grants starts as of this meeting. Groups that will
be involved include the DPW, School Department, and all Town Departments.
o Green Summit
o Meeting is set for January 27 at 7 PM at the Fire Department. John will distribute the
invitation and agenda tomorrow. Ria will forward the information to local newspapers
for press release. This could be a good tie in with the Green Communities
o Green Home Forum
o Meeting is set for Feb 24 at 7 PM at the Fire Department. Refreshments will be served
starting at 6:30 PM (Nancy will get food). Scott, Frank and Tom will distribute
information about the Forum. Scott will also develop a presentation/flier and a tri-fold
identifying role our committee plays.
o Groups included will be:
o Mass Dept of Energy, Ultimate Savings presentation; John will contact
o AltE Store.com, could provide class in alternate energy; Andy will contact
o GroSolar; Frank will contact
o NStar; Scott will contact
o Water Conservation Group/Eric Carty; Ria will contact
o Mass Tech Collaborative; Tom will contact
o CSG; Tom will contact
o Miscellaneous
o Proposed Stretch Building Code workshop, in Medway, January 27, 7 PM
o Ann is submitting an application for a renewable energy trust

o There is $260 available to us, we need to identify how we will use it. Identified
website (including discussion around renewable energy), printing fliers, etc as
options.
o Scott looking into providing proposed criteria for green site development
concepts as part of a Sustainable Site Development Group. Will meet with folks
at our march 9 meeting.
o Frank looking into Waste Water Treatment Conversion to Energy options. Met
with the MIT Forum Energy Award winner, a company called Intact Technologies,
who could provide some options for the waste water treatment plant being
developed. Include JT, Norman and Dan McIntyre in this meeting. Plan to have a
presentation by Intact at our next meeting, starting at 8 PM.
o Gino to add information to website.
