CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION GRANTING AMENDED
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO HOLY NAME
OF JESUS CHURCH
WHEREAS, Holy Name of Jesus Church (Applicant) has been granted a
conditional use permit pursuant to Resolution No. 82-14 dated July 20, 1982,
Resolution No. 86-41 dated May 20, 1986 and Resolution No. 90-43 dated June 19,
1990; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant has applied for an amendment to its conditional
use permit in order to construct an addition of 10,500 sq. ft. to the school located
at 155 Co. Rd. 24; and
WHEREAS, this request was reviewed by the planning commission at its
meeting on June 11, 1990 and by the city council at its meetings on July 2 and
August 6, 1991; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that granting an amended conditional use
permit to the Applicant will not impede the orderly development of adjacent
properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Medina that an amended conditional use permit be granted to the Applicant for
expansion of the school, subject to the following conditions:
1. The Applicant must must obtain a written commitment from the City of
Plymouth to supply the additional sanitary sewer and water needed to
support the addition;
2. The rooftop mechanical equipment must be screened from view from the
south with materials satisfactory for the zoning administrator;
3. The Applicant must submit evidence that Hennepin County has reviewed and
is satisfied with the Applicant's storm water drainage plan;
4. The Applicant must obtain the approval of the Minnehaha Watershed
District for the project;
5. Ringing of the bell in the new pylon must be limited to special occasions;
6. No church or school parking shall be allowed on the north side of Co. Rd.
24, except on up to four special occasions per year and with prior notice to
the City;
7. Exterior lighting shall be designed and installed so that the globe is recessed
and enclosed on all sides except the bottom and no light is cast directly or
any other property;
8. The Applicant must pay to the city a fee in the amount determined by the
staff to represent the actual cost to the city for reviewing this amended
conditional use permit application;
9. The Applicant must install additional fire hydrants as required by the fire
marshal; and
10. The terms and conditions of this amended conditional use permit are in
addition to the terms and conditions of Resolutions Nos. 82-14, 86-41 and
90-43.
