MINUTES
MARCH 7, 1972
COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Gilbertson called the meeting of the Community Redevelop-
ment Agency to order at 9 :35 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 1972.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Agents - Briggs, Harker, Merritt, Tyrell, Gilbertson
Absent: Agents -None
Also Present: CRA Director Koski, CRA Assistant Director
Dragicevich, City Attorney Martin
3. RECOMMENDATION FROM PLANNING COMMISSION m Meeting of February 29,
1972
A. Amendment of Project Area and Preliminary Plan
CRA Director Koski advised that the Planning Commission, at
their adjourned meeting held February 29, 1972, recommended,
pursuant to Section 33326 of the Health and Safety Code of the
State of California, that the boundaries of the original project
area be changed, which was identified by Exhibit "A ",all as
forth in Resolution No..71- 446PC. He stated that the boundaries
on the west side had been slightly modified to exclude the pie
shaped areas westerly of the Eaton Wash, north and south of
Las Tunas Drive, which areas were not feasible to develop and
connect with adjacent areas located east of the Flood Control
Channel. Further, the boundary modification included the area
easterly of Rosemead Boulevard to assure compatibility with the
development of theorag'inal'project area on the west side of
Rosemead Boulevard.
Mr. Briggs moved to adopt CRA Resolution No. .2 entitled A
RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY RECOMMENDING AND APPROVING A CHANGE IN THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE PROPOSED ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD REDEVELOPMENT
PROJECT AREA, changing the boundaries of survey and project
areas and amending the preliminary; plan, seconded by Mr. Harker
and unanimously carried.
B. Extension of Moratorium Area.
Mr. Tyrell moved that the Community Redevelopment Agency
recommend to the City Council that the moratorium presently
in force on building and occupancy, permits in the area previously
encompassed in the Rosemead Boulevard Redevelopment Project Area,
be extended to include the new area east of Rosemead Boulevard,
now within the boundaries of the project area. .Mr. Briggs
seconded the motion which was unanimously carried.
4. ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
by .the Chairman at 9:40 p.m.
