HomeMy Public PortalAbout2010.101 (05-18-10)RESOLUTION NO. 2010.101 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD REAFFIRMING THE VACATION OF THE FIRST ALLEY NORTH OF PLATT AVENUE BETWEEN MURIEL DRIVE AND ~WOODLAWN AVENUE AND CLARIFYING THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF THE VACATED ALLEY WHEREAS, on July 21, 2009, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2009.132 approving the vacation of the first alley' north of Platt Avenue befinreen Muriel Drive and Woodlawn Avenue; and WHEREAS, public utility easements were retained for maintenance of existing public utilities located in the alley; and `t, ~ .` .~ ~ ~- s ;,_.~ . _ ;~,,~ 4 ~ . . •.~ ~"~' ~`' ~ ' '~ ~~~~ ~~ WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2009.132 did not`clearly enough define the easterly limit ofi the alley vacation. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood reaffirms the vacation of the first alley north of Platt Avenue between Muriel Drive and Woodlawn Avenue more clearly described as follows: The portion of the first alley north of Platt Avenue in the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of California as shown on Tract Map No. 7816, Map Book 91, page 22 of Maps in the Office of the Los Angeles County Recorder described as follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 14 of Tract Map No. 7816, thence 5 feet S71 ° 04' 40"E to the True Point of Beginning; thence 290.89 feet S71 ° 04' 40"E, thence 15 feet N18° 52' 50"E to a point being the northerly Boundary of Tract No. 7816 and the southerly line of Lot 216 of the Century Square Tract, Map Book 133, pages 87- 88 of records in the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office, thence 290.89 feet N71 ° 04' 40"W.to a point along said line being the southwesterly corner of Lot 221 of the Century Square Tract, thence 15 feet S18° 52' 50"W to the True Point of Beginning. Section 2. That the City of Lynwood reserves and excepts from the forgoing vacation public easements be retained for construction and maintenance of all utility facilities within the limits of the street. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately'upon its adoption. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
