ORDIANCE NO.
AN ORDIANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE U. S.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLICE OFFICER BULLET
PROOF VESTS AND APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION.
BE IT ENEACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute a grant agreement with the U. S. Department of Justice for the purpose of
purchasing bulletproof vests of which one half the cost will be funded through the
Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998, which provides federal funds to local law
enforcement agencies for purchases of police officer bullet proof vests. The other one
half of the new bulletproof vest purchases will be paid by the Bureau of Justice Local
Law Enforcement Block Grant funding, previously approved under Ordinance 14644.
Section 2. There is hereby supplementally appropriated within the Jefferson
City Police Department Police Grant Equipment Account (10-300-572070) as indicated
on Exhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its passage and approval.
