ORDINANCE NO. //` /" 6 /
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH DON SCHNIEDERS
EXCAVATION COMPANY, INC. FOR THE LAFAYETTE STREET RECONSTRUCTION
PROJECT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
an agreement with Don Schnieders Excavation Company, Inc. for the Lafayette Street
Reconstruction project.
Section 2. The agreement shall be substantially the same in form and content as
that agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval..

Staff recommends award of the bid to the lowest and best bidder, Don Schnieders
Excavating Company, Inc. of Jefferson City, Missouri in the amount of$1,076,044.84.

Public Works has completed a review of the bids opened at 1:30 PM on April 20, 2010 for the above
noted project. As part of the review all the bids were tabulated to check for math errors and to compare
unit price quotes of the various contractors. Attached to this memo is the tabulation of the seven (7)
bids that were received for the project.
Based on our review, we recommend acceptance of the base bid from the low bidder Don Schnieders
Excavating Company, Inc., 1307 Fairgrounds Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109. The bid total is
$1,076,044.84.
The project will be expensed as follows:
