HomeMy Public PortalAbout1992 Ordinance Amendments1992 ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS Ordinance No. 260 amended Chapter 701 of the City Code of Ordinances to prohibit the discharge of water from a sump pump into the sanitary sewer system. Ordinance No. 262 amended sections of the City Code of Ordinances relating to home occupations. Several additional standards were enacted to limit the type of activity that can be conducted under a home occupation. Ordinance Nos. 266 and 272 requires that all individual sewage disposal systems be inspected by an inspector selected by the city. All components must be inspected, including measurement of the depth of the sludge and scum in the septic tank. The inspection must be conducted and a report submitted to the Clerk's office every two years or upon any transfer of the property. The cost of each inspection is currently $30. Ordinance No. 267 amended Section 320 relating to firearms, deadly weapons, hunting and trapping. This ordinance defines hunting as stalking or being in possession of a firearm or deadly weapon for the purpose of taking birds or mammals. No person is allowed to discharge a firearm or hunt on any private or public property without a permit, except for the owners of such land, the owner's immediate family, and guests on the owner's land when accompanied by the owners. A condition of every such permit is that the person possess all required state and federal hunting licenses. Ordinance No. 269 relates to curfews for minors. A minor is anyone under 18 years of age. For any minor under 16 years of age, the hours of restriction are between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. the following day. For any minor 16 years of age or older, the hours of restriction are between 12:00 midnight and 5:00 a.m, the following day.
