RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INSTALLMENT AGREEMENT FOR
DELINQUENT T AJiES
WHEREAS, 54:5-19 et seq. permits the tax collector to enter into an installment plan for
delinquent taxes and municipal charges prior to ta.x sale; and
WHEREAS, the Borough wishes to authorize the tax collector to establish and
implement said installment plans after he has reviewed the request and the owners'
ability to pay, and recommends that the plan be established.
NO\V, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Borough of CarteretJ
in the County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. The Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough ofCarteret hereby authorize
the tax collector to establish and implement installment plans for delinquent
taxes and municipal charges prior to tax sale pursuant to 54:5~19 ~~.
2. That in the event that any of these installments or payments for subsequent
taxes and/or municipal charges are not made in accordance with the
agreement approved herein, the Borough shall have the right to proceed with
the regular statutory collection procedures including, but not limited to, tax
sale and subsequent foreclosure.
