AWARD OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
I~IGIN~:~ING SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to provide
o,.~.{neering services to perform a preliminary investigation of drain-
age problems in the SABO/PII~tO SRREMr AREA~ HARRISON AVI~UE, FAST ElM
STRI,:i,:L' and MTLTK STREET Areas. ; and
WHEREAS, p~rsuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:ll-5(1)(a) professional services are
exempt from the requirements of competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the %ocal Finance Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVe), that the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of KIIIAM ASSOCIATES
at a maximin cost of not to exceed $9:750.00
billable per attached contract.
BE IT FtPRTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Municipal Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:ll-5(1)(a) due to the specialized
and professional nature of the services provided.

THE CONTRACTOR does hereby agree to perform the following
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES 1N
CONNECTION WITH THE PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION OF DRAINAGE
PROBLEM IN THE SABO/PINHO/HARRISON/EAST ELM/MILIK STREETS
AREAS.
NOT TO EXCEED $9,750.00
According to the terms set forth in Resolution.
THE INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT ON
THE REVERSE OF THE PURCHASE ORDER
SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE VENDOR'S
NEGLIGENT OR WRONGFUL ACTS.
THE BOROUGH does hereby agree to pay the Contractor the sum set
forth in Resolution.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have hereunder set their hands and seals or
caused these presents to be signed by their proper corporate officers and their corporate
seals to be hereto affixed, the day and year written above.
