HomeMy Public PortalAbout20100114 - Woodville Historic District Commission - Meeting MinutesWOODVILLE HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISION
MINUTES OF JANUARY 14, 2010
The meeting was opened at 7:30 PM with the following attending: Andre Griben,
Scott Richardson, Gail Clifford, Jon Pryor, and George Reimann. Karen Adelman and
Ken Johnson were not present.
The first item on the agenda was a presentation for 202 Wood Street by Jim
Crowley for the Ofria’s. There are to be four additions to the present structure; A gambrel
in the front (which can be seen in Winter from the road), Enlarging of the existing porch,
four foot bump out on left side of structure, and a 12 x 11 ft room off the right side.
A proposed driveway across the front of the property into the 100 ft wetland
buffer is to be taken up wit Don McAdam, the Town Conservation Committee.
Gail Clifford made a motion to accept the design as presented, which was
seconded by George Reimann. The vote was all in favor ! A certificate of applicability
was signed.
The second item of business was a presentation by Craig Nation for a project
change to 279 Wood Street. The discussion centered around the non Colonial look and
eye appeal of the proposed deck off the garage. The final conclusion by all was that the
deck would be lowered about 2 feet to have it’s line match the roof line on the previously
approved covered walkway, and the supporting columns would look like the columns that
support the walkway roof, with stairs going off the side of the deck toward the rear of the
property. Craig agreed with these proposals and would return with an updated plan
depicting these modifications.
A separate item was brought up by Andre Griben as to re-siding of three sides of
the house, when only one side was in the original plan ? This is an after the fact item.
Craig stated that he thought he had permission for this modification!
Some business items were brought up: the request for the two week waiver for
202 Wood Street; the problem of proper notification by the Building inspector to our
Commission on the 206, 211 and 217 Wood Street properties. Structures had been built
on these properties in view from Wood Street, but no notification to our Commission. A
motion was made by George Reimann, seconded by Gail Clifford and a vote was taken to
produce a letter to Charles Kadlik, Elaine Lazarus, and Norman Khumalo . Andre is to
draft this letter.
Scott Richardson will draft a letter to the Woodville Historic District homeowners
stating what the rules and regulations are regarding changes to the outside of the
properties in the District. Scott is pull together a data base of the District.
As there is currently no budget for our use, discussion was made about charging a
fee at the time of taking out a permit for 2 week review, and subsequent project changes.
Andre is to review this with Heidi.
The meeting was closed at 8:51 PM
Respectfully submitted, George Reimann, secretary file:WHDC114
