We the got into a heated discussion relating to the December 2007 certificate of appropriateness for the arched garage doors with glass, as described in that document. Several options were proposed to Craig to get around the doors not having glass and the two side doors having a row of lights above them, but none above the center door. In lue of full compliance, it was suggested that a fence be installed along the property border, or a set of glass lights be installed above the center door to match the ones used on the side doors, or comply with the original certificate to put glass in the three doors. Craig Nation did not like any of these options and refused to agree to any solution. NO RESOLUTION TO ALTERNATIVES WAS REACHED. ITEM 3: Historic Signs for Downtown and Woodville Gail Clifford reviewed the proposal given to the Historic Commission, a copy given to Andre Griben, showing the two vendors of a ceramic material and a bronze material., with the back up information on sizes, costs, etc. The discussion was around the placement of the signs in Woodville at both ends of the Historic District. Basically the group agreed with the proposed placements, and Gail was to report back to the Historic Commission. In lieu of the crescent at the top of the signs, it was suggested the we maintain the original thoughts of 1715 in that area of the sign.
