RESOLUTION NO. 12-8488
AN RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,
FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
CONDUCT A CLEAN UP AND BEAUTIFICATION OF
THE CITY PRIOR TO THE HOLIDAYS AT GATEWAY
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE CITY, INCLUDING THE
PLACEMENT OF NO LESS THAN THREE LARGE
CHRISTMAS TREES, AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED
SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS($60,000)PAYABLE FROM
ACCOUNT NUMBER 41-541340; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPOATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to authorize the City
Manager to conduct a cleanup and beautification of the City prior to the Holidays, at gateway
locations within the city, including the placement of no less than three large Christmas trees, at a
cost not to exceed sixty thousand dollars ($60,000), payable from account number 41-541340.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby directs and authorizes
the City Manager to solicit competitive proposals for a contractor or contractors to conduct a
cleanup and beautification of the City prior to the Holidays, at gateway locations within the city,
including the placement of no less than three large Christmas trees, at a cost not to exceed sixty
thousand dollars ($60,000),payable from account number 41-541340.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 20th DAY OF November,2012.

Re: Special Commission Meeting
Included on the agenda for today's Special Commission Meeting is an item to conduct a clean-up
and beautification of the City including the placement of no less than three Christmas trees at a
cost not to exceed $60,000.
Staff is extremely excited to move forward with this project to make an impressive visual impact
especially in time for the holidays and would like to suggest a defined scope for this project as
seen below:
Description Fund
Purchase of shrubs,trees, mulch, etc for City entrance signs and
medians General Fund
Purchase of two (2) or three (3).Christmas trees and decorations General Fund
Repair of sidewalks throughout the City Peoples Transportation
Plan Fund
Clean up of litter and debris that may affect the flow of
drainage in City streets Stormwater Fund
