A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO LEASE/PURCHASE TEN (10) 2013
FORD FUSION POLICE VEHICLES FROM MAROONE
FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALE AT A COST OF $4,380 PER
MONTH, OVER A 48 MONTH PERIOD, AND
INSTALLATION OF EQUIPMENT FOR THE VEHICLES AT
A ONE-TIME COST OF $16,199.90, PAYABLE FROM
ACCOUNT NUMBERS 36-521641 AND 36-521648;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to
lease/purchase ten(10) Ford Fusion vehicles for the Opa-locka Police Department; and
WHEREAS,the City of Opa-locka solicited prices quotes from three(3) different
vendors for the lease/purchase of ten (10) Ford Fusions, and Maroone of Fort Lauderdale
was tied for the lowest price among the three vendors; and
WHEREAS, to lease/purchase ten (10) Ford Fusions will cost $4,380 per month,
over a 48 month period; and,
WHEREAS, the installation of equipment will be a one-time cost of$16,199.90
to be installed by Dana Safety Supply; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the vehicles and installation of equipment will be
reconciled in the FY 2013 Budget Amendment; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka authorizes the City
Manager to lease/purchase ten (10) Ford Fusion from Maroone of Fort Lauderdale, at a
cost of$4,380 per month, over a 48 month period, and the equipment to be installed by
Dana Safety Supply at a one-time cost of$16,199.90.

NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka directs and authorizes the
City Manager to lease/purchase ten (10) Ford Fusion from Maroone of Fort Lauderdale,
at a cost of$4,380 per month, over a 48 month period, with equipment to be installed by
Dana Safety Supply at a one-time cost of $16,199.90, payable from Account Numbers
36-521641 and 36-521648.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 12th day of December, 2012.

Staff Summary:
Purchase of Ten (10) Ford Fusions (un-marked) from Moroone Ford of Fort Lauderdale that will eliminate the
need to rent vehicles for Opa-locka Police Department Criminal Investigative Division and undercover police
operations. The City is currently renting approximately five (5) vehicles per month at a cost of$4,000 per month.
The City can purchase these ten (10)vehicles for approximately the same month cost.

Description: Purchase of Ten (10) Ford Fusions (un-marked) from Moroone Ford of Fort Lauderdale

Financial Impact: 48 month lease @3.79% interest; $4,380.26 per month lease payment. This item was not
part of the FY 2012-2013 Adopted Budget and will be reconciled during the FY 2013
