A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ACCEPTING
THE WORK OF THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE REHABILITATION OF WATER WELL
NO. 8, PROJECT NUMBER 4011.67.975, AS BEING COMPLETE; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PROCESS THE RECORDATION OF THE
NOTICE OF COMPLETION
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2009, the City Council awarded a contract to So Cal
Pump & Well Drilling, Inc. in the amount of $112,082 for the rehabilitation of Water Well
No. 8; and
WHEREAS, the project construction work started on June 30, 2009, and was
completed on December 18, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works conducted the final inspection. on
December 18, 2009 and found thaf all work was completed in accordance~with project
documents; and
WHEREAS, the work was completed fifty-six working days after the contract
time as extended by contract change orders no's. 1, 2& 3; and
WHEREAS, during the overdue fifty-six working days, the City incurred
additional cost for project construction management and inspection; and
WHEREAS, as allowed by the contract the additional cost to the City of
$17,760.00 has been charged to the Contractor; and
WHEREAS, the net final .project construction cost less the assessed City
charges for additional work is $115,415; and
WHEREAS, the project was funded by the City Water Fund; and
WHEREAS, The City Engineer is authorized to process the recordation of the
Notice of Completion.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLL0IIVS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood'accepts the work of So
Cal Pump and Well Drilling, Inc. for the Rehabilitation of Well No. 8, Project No.
4011.67.975, as complete in accordance with the contract documents; and authorizes
the City Engineer to process the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
Section 2. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15th day of June, 2010.
