A WARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 2009 BASE REPAIRPROGRAiII
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret ("Borough") authorized the preparation of bid
specifications and contract documents and advertisement for receipt of bids for the 2009 Base
Repair Program; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has previously received bids for said project on September 9, 2009;
and
WHEREAS, DeFino Contracting, Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey submitted the lowest bid for
said work as evidence by the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department and
Borough's Consulting Engineer for the Project as follows:

WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T & M Associates, has reviewed the above
referenced bid proposal(s) and has recommended an award ofa contract for the Total Bid; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Ofticer has certified that funds are or will be
available for the award of a contract for said work.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey as follows:
I. That the Borough hereby awards the bid for the 2009 Base Repair Program to
DeFino Contracting, CIift\vood Beach, New Jersey, in the amount of
$175,144.36 for the Total Bid.
2. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized and directed to
enter into a contract with DeFino Contracting for the 2009 Base Repair Program
in the amount of $175,144.36 and in accordance in all respects with the request
for proposals and bid on the same.
3. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing
Department and T & M Associates for distribution to DeFino Contracting.

2009 Base Repair Program
Dear Mayor and Council Members:
On Wednesday, September 9, 2009, (2) two bids were received for the 2009 Base Repair
Program. Enclosed is a bid summary for the project. The following is a list of bids received:

A. Montone Construction
Based on the above, the lowest responsive bidder is DeFino Contracting Company of 28 Industrial
Drive, Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey 07735, with a total bid amount of $175,144.36. DeFino
Contracting Company has provided a list of similar projects they have performed in New Jersey.
We have also had experience with this Contractor and their work was satisfactory. Therefore, based
on their low bid and satisfactory past performance, it is recommended the Borough award a contract
to DeFino Contracting Company for the 2009 Base .Repair Program for a total amount of
$175,144.36.
Award should be contingent upon certification of funds by the Chief Financial Officer, review of
the bid documents by the Borough Attorney and approval from the New Jersey Department of
Labor and Division of Wage and Hour Compliance.
