HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-8509 Pay Additional 4105.00 to Coffey Burlington For Service Rendered Sponsored by: Mayor Taylor Resolution No. 12-8509 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $4,105.00 TO COFFEY BURLINGTON,FOR SERVICES RENDERED IN CONNECTION WITH AN INVESTIGATION PERTAINING TO ALLEGED MISCONDUCT BY AN EMPLOYEE; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka had certain allegations arise with regard to an Opa- locka employee; and WHEREAS, due to the nature of the allegation, the City of Opa-locka decided to hire an independent investigator to look into the matter; and WHEREAS,the total fee for the investigation was $9,105.00;the City Manager made an initial payment of$5,000.00,the extent of his authority,on 11/26/12,leaving $4,105.00 remaining balance; and WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to approve payment of the balance to Coffey Burlington, for investigation services regarding allegations against a City employee. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby approves and authorizes the payment to Coffey Burlington, for investigation services regarding allegations against a City employee, in the amount of$4,105.00.
