Resolution No. 13-8511
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE
THE USE OF THE CODE RED HIGH SPEED
TELEPHONE COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION
SERVICES ONLY WHEN THERE IS AN EMERGENCY
ALERT SITUATION OR A NATURAL DISASTER;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires that the CodeRED
High Speed Telephone Community Notification service shall only be used in emergency
situations, or in the event of natural disasters and
WHEREAS,the CodeRED communication system is a vital communication tool for the
residents of the City of Opa-locka; and
WHEREAS,the CodeRED communication should only be used if there is an emergency
alert situation or a natural disaster;and
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to authorize the use of
CodeRED High Speed Telephone Community Notification only when there is an emergency
alert situation or a natural disaster.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes and
directs the use of the CodeRED High Speed Telephone Community Notification services only
when there is an emergency alert situation, or a natural disaster.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
