All plant material shall be Fl. #I, or better, as given in the current Florida Qudes and Standards for Nursery Plants. All plant material shall be true to name and size, as per Fl. Grades and Standards. Plant materials which do not meet, or exceed these standards will not be accepted. 2. Quantities, sizes and location of plants will be determined by the plan. Sizes of the specified plant material shall take precedence over the container size. Quantities shown on the materials schedule are to be used as a guideline. The landscape contractor shall be responsible for the actual quantities on the plan. The plans shall take precedence over the material schedule. 3. No substitutions shall be made without written consent prior to installation. 4. Planting soils shall consist of 50% sand / 50% muck (or other approved compost material) and shall be clean and free of debris. Trees shall be installed with a minimum of 8' on sides and bottom of root ball. Shrubs, plants and groundcovers shall be installed with a minimum of 4' on sides and bottom of root balls (see planting derails). 5. Milorganite, or equal fertilizer, shall be applied to all plantings as per manufacturers specifications. 6. All trees & palms shall be mulched with a 3' diameter circle, 3' minimum depth. All planting beds shall re• ceive 3' finished depth, mulch upon completion of planting process. Mulch should be Cypress grade B+ ( unless otherwise stated in materials list). 7. All plants shall be planted at soil levels which they were previously grown. 8. All plant materials are to be watered -in immediately after planting, so as to remove all air pockets. All plant material is to be hand - watered for a minimum of 1 week after installation, and thereafter as required. Con- tractor shall advise the owners of any additional hand - watering requirements. 9. Contractor shall notify S.U.N.S.H.I.N.E. (1.800432.4770) for locations of existing utility lines 48 hours prior to beginning any work. Contractoi shall verify locations of all utility lines and easements prior to com- mencing any work Excavation in the vicinity of underground utilities shall be undertaken with care and by hand, if necessary. The Contractor bears full responsibility for this work and disruption or damage to uti6 ties shall be repaired immediately at no expense to the owner. 10. All planting shall be installed in a sound, workmanlike manner and according to good planting procedures. Installation shall include watering, weeding, fertilizing, mulching, selective pruning and removal of refuse and debris on a regular basis until final approval. All landscape shall be installed in compliance with all local codes. 11. All trees are to be staked or guyed to provide ample support such that materials remain straight and true in an upright position through the guarantee period. Staking and guying shall be performed at the option of the contractor, except where required by code. However, the landscape contractor shall responsible for all trees and palms remaining straight and true through the guarantee period. In the event that a tree or palm shifts after it has been properly staked or guyed, the landscape contractor shall not be held responsible. 12. All sod shall be "Floritam' unless otherwise specified. Sod shall be dense, green, well rooted and free of de- bris, weeds, disease or insects. Sod is to be watered to a depth of 3' immediately after installation. Grades are to be raked smooth, and all debris removed prior to installation. 13. All trees, palms, plants and groundcover are to guaranteed for a period of 90 days after the date of comple- tion. 14. Potting mix to be installed before installing any annuals. 15. The plan shall take precedence over the plant list, should there be any discrepancy between the two. 16.
