AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH TOW PRO, LLC FOR TOWING AND STORAGE SERVICE OF ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLES. WHEREAS, Tow Pro, LLC has been selected as the firm best qualified to provide professional services related to the Towing and Storage Service of Abandoned Motor Vehicles from all areas of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 . Tow Pro, LLC is hereby approved as the best qualified firm to provide professional services and its proposal is hereby accepted. Section 2.The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Tow Pro, LLC for Towing and Storage Service of Abandoned Motor Vehicles from all areas of the City. Section 3. The agreement shall be substantially the same in form and content as that agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval. City owned vehicles up to 24,000 pounds and within two miles outside the city limits will be at no charge. A charge of$1.00 per mile will be applied for tows in excess of two miles of the city limits. Vendor will issue a check to the city in the amount of$365.00 at the end of each contract year. PAST PERFORMANCE: Staff believes that the vendor has the ability and will provide the services as specified. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends award of the proposal to Tow Pro, LLC of Jefferson City, Missouri at the unit prices listed in the proposal for a one year period, January I, 2010 through December 31,2010. The proposal lists up to four additional one year renewal periods with specific prices and discounts for each year should the City decide to renew the agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, be it agreed by the parties that the agreement is hereby renewed for the third of four additional one-year periods to end December 31, 2013.
