RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET, IN THE COUNTY
OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 08-296
DULY ADOPTED ON DECEMBER 4, 2008
\VHEREAS, the governing body of the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") is interested in
determining whether certain property located within the Borough is in need of redevelopment
under the New Jersey Local Redevelopment and Housing law, N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-l et seq. (the
"Redevelopment Law"); and
\VHEREAS, by Resolution No. 08-296, duly adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough
on December 4, 2008, the Borough Council authorized and directed the Borough's Planning
Board to undertake an investigation to determine whether the property located at Block I, Lot
2.12, known as 760 Port Carteret Drive in the Borough (the "Study Area") constitutes an area in
need of redevelopment under Section 5 of the Redevelopment Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-5); and
\VHEREAS, the Borough Council hereby finds that the property designated as Block I, Lot 2.12
on the Borough's tax map was previously sub-divided to form properties now known as Block I,
Lot 2.12 and Block 1, Lot 2.13, which together form the property located at 760 Port Carteret
Drive; and
\VHEREAS, the Borough desires to clarify that the portion of the Study Area intended to be the
focus of the investigation by the Planning Board is the property now known as Block 1, Lot 2.13,
which is currently un-improved and is directly adjacent to Block I, lot 2.12; and
\VHEREAS, the Borough desires to amend the description of the Study Area, as set forth in
Resolution No. 08-296 to include Block 1, Lot 2.13, rather than Block 1, Lot 2.12.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by tbe Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The term "Study Area", as used in Resolution No. 08-296, duly adopted on
December 4, 2008, is hereby amended to include the property now known as
Block 1, 2.13 rather than the property now known as Block 1, Lot 2.12.
2. All actions taken by the Borough's representatives in connection with the
property that is now known as Block 1, Lot 2.13 are hereby ratified.
3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately.
4. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Planning Board for action
consistent therewith.
