AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH
CME ASSOCIATES, RE: TAX MAP MAINTENANCE
'VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional engineering
services in regard to tax map maintenance; and
\VHEREAS, CME Associates, 1460 Route 9 South, Howell, New Jersey 07731,
possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and
'VHEREAS, CME Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said services
at a total cost not to exceed $8,500.00; and
'WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Council have reviewed said proposal; and
\VHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the
Borough ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The proposal from CME Associates for engineering services in
regard to tax map maintenance, at a total cost not to exceed
$8,500.00 is hereby approved.
2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services
contract pursuant to N.J.S.A 40A:II-5(1)(a) awarded pursuant
to the Borough's Fair and Open process as authorized by law.
3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department and CME Associates.
Adopted this 22'" day of October, 2009
and certified as a true copy of the
original on October 23,2009.

Dear John:
In accordance with our discussion, we have received and reviewed the additional work
requested for the update of the Borough's tax maps. Work in this authorization will
include revising the current tax maps with the most up to date blocks and lots with the
previous revisions performed by our office. This work consisted of approximately forty-
six (46) tax- map revisions with a majority consisting of two or three lot minor
subdivisions. The new tax maps will also be revised to include the recent mOdifications
required per the plats provided to our office by the Tax Assessor's office.
It is our understanding that the Borough of Carteret maintains an up to date digital tax
map base in AutoCADD format. This proposal is contingent upon receiving the digital . a
tax maps prior to performing the revisions. ~ I

Borough Tax Assessor: One (1) full size set and one (1) reduced size set;
Borough Clerk: One (1) reduced size set;

Middlesex County Clerk: One (1) full size set.

Exceptions:
. Any engineering and/or land surveying services beyond the scope outlined above will
be considered extra. Said fees will be based on the hourly rate or a fixed fee
mutually agreed upon in writing.
. The fees on the hourly rate schedule are subject to change by January 1 of every
year.
. The terms of this contract will remain in effect for a period of one year from the date
of this proposal.
Should you accept our fee estimate, kindly provide a purchase order or professional
services resolution authorizing same. In the meantime, if you have any questions or
concerns regarding the above scope of services, please do not hesitate to contact me at
this office.
