HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022-10 Resolution Approving Plans And Specifications For The Arrowhead Drive Turn Lane Expansion Project And Ordering The Advertisement For BidsMember DesLauriers introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 2022-10 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ARROWHEAD DRIVE TURN LANE EXPANSION PROJECT AND ORDERING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS WHEREAS, on January 5, 2021, the city council passed a motion to order the Arrowhead Drive Turn Lane Expansion Project (the "Project") authorizing WSB and Associates, Inc., the city engineer, to prepare plans and specifications for such Project; and WHEREAS, the city engineer has prepared plans and specifications for the Project, the improvement of Arrowhead Drive north of TH 55 by expanding the width of the roadway to accommodate an additional southbound left turn lane, a bituminous trail extension, pedestrian crosswalk improvements on TH 55, stormwater ponding improvements, installation of storm sewer, sanitary sewer relocation, and pavement striping; and WHEREAS, on February 2, 2022, the plans and specifications were presented to the City Council for approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the city council of the city of Medina, as follows: 1. The plans and specifications for the Arrowhead Drive Turn Lane Expansion Project dated February 2, 2022 are hereby approved. 2. The city engineer is directed to insert in the official paper an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisements shall be published for 21 days, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that the bids will be received electronically until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at which time they will be publicly opened electronically in the council chambers of the city hall by the administrator and engineer, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the council at 7:00 p.m. on March 15, 2022, in the council chambers of the city hall. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during the consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed as set forth in the instructions to bidders in compliance with the requirements of electronic bidding and bid security.
