MEDINA CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES OF
MAY 21, 2019
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on May 21, 2019 at 6:00
p.m. at the Medina Public Works/Police, 600 Clydesdale Trail, Medina, MN.
I. Call to Order
Members present: Martin, Anderson, Pederson, DesLauriers, Albers
Members absent:
Also present: City Administrator Scott Johnson, Public Works Director Steve Scherer,
Sgt. Jason Nelson, and Public Safety Director Ed Belland
II. Bob Mitchell Park Replacement Fund Gift
Staff was recently notified by Lucy Mitchell, wife of former Mayor Bob Mitchell, that
she and her family would like to generously provide an initial contribution to a Park
Replacement/Trail Fund for the City of Medina. Staff provided an update on the
proposed gift. Mayor Martin, Council Member Anderson, and City Administrator Scott
Johnson had a conference call on May 9th with Eric Anderson from the Minneapolis
Foundation to discuss options for the fund. Council directed staff to work with Mayor
Martin and Council Member Anderson on a letter back to the Mitchell Family outlining
possible plans for the fund.
III. Tour of 600 Clydesdale Trail
Public Works Director Steve Scherer and Public Safety Director Ed Belland provided the
City Council with a tour of the facilities at 600 Clydesdale Trail.

Martin closed the meeting at 6:45 p.m.
