HomeMy Public PortalAbout13-8542 Creating Rules and Procedures Banning Trash and Garbage Containers Sponsored by: Vice Mayor Kelley RESOLUTION NO. 13-8542 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO INVESTIGATE THE POSSIBILITY OF CREATING RULES AND PROCEDURES BANNING TRASH AND GARBAGE CONTAINERS FROM BEING MAINTAINED IN THE FRONT AREA OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka deems it to be in the best interest of the residents to establish certain rules, procedures and guidelines regarding trash and garbage containers; and WHEREAS, it is a nuisance and annoyance for trash and garbage containers to remain visible in front of residences; and WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to investigate the possibility of prohibiting residents from maintaining trash and garbage containers in the front of residential property. THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Session 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Session 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, authorizes and directs the City Manager to investigate the possibility of creating rules and procedures prohibiting trash and garbage containers from being maintained in the front of residential property. Resolution No. 13-8542 Session 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of February, 2013.
