HomeMy Public PortalAbout003-1995 Receive a donationORDINANCE NO. 3-1995 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RICHMOND TO RECEIVE DONATIONS WHEREAS the City of Richmond, Indiana, has the option of accepting or rejecting donations for a specific purpose, and WHEREAS the acceptance of a donation for a specific purpose constitutes the appropriation of such property for the intended purpose, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following donations are hereby accepted with the heart -felt gratitude of the citizens of Richmond: A. Harrington Bank, a donation of $1,000.00 to the Planning Department for the Nicholson feasibility study. B. Star Bank, N.A. Indiana, a donation of $1,000.00 to the Planning Department for the Nicholson feasibility study. C. Richmond Housing Authority, a donation of $1,000.00 to the Planning Department for the Nicholson feasibility study. D. First Bank Richmond, a donation of $500.00 to the Planning Department for the Nicholson feasibility study. E. Peoples Loan & Trust Bank, a donation of $500.00 to the Planning Department for the Nicholson feasibility study. F. Wayne Bank & Trust Company, a donation of $500.00 to the Planning Department for the Nicholson feasibility study. G . Bank One, Richmond N.A., a donation of $500.00 to the Planning Department for the Nicholson feasibility study. MILUGAN City Attorney This ordinance recognizes seven gifts to the City Planning Department totaling $5,000.00 to help fund the feasibility study for the conversion of the former Nicholson School and campus into apartments for low and moderate income families. The City has received a grant of $30,000.00 from the Indiana Housing Finance Authority to go with $5,000.00 from local sources, namely, Harrington Bank $1,000.00 Star Bank N.A. Indiana 1,000.00 Richmond Housing Authority 1,000.00 First Bank Richmond 500.00 Peoples Loan & Trust Bank 500.00 Wayne Bank and Trust Company 500.00 Bank One, Richmond NA 500.00 The acceptance of gifts by ordinance constitutes the appropriation of such property for the intended purpose and fulfills the State Board of Accounts regulations as well as provides well -deserved recognition for the donors.
