RESOLUTION NO. 13-8566
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO INVESTIGATE WAYS AND MEANS OF
PARTNERNING WITH LENDING INSTITUTIONS TO
CREATE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN
THE CITY LIMITS AS PER THE COMMUNITY
REINVESTMENT ACT; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Community Reinvestment Act was designed to encourage commercial
banks and savings associations to help meet the needs of borrowers in all segments of their
communities, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods
WHEREAS, the City desires to make a concerted effort to take advantage of the
Community Reinvestment Act and investigate resources that may be available to the Community
of Opa-locka through the lending institutions; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires the City Manager to
partner with lending institutions to explore avenues and resources available, to create investment
opportunities in the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Session 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Session 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, authorizes and directs the
City Manager to investigate ways and means of partnering with lending institutions to create
investment opportunities within the City limits of Opa-locka.
Resolution No. 13-8566
Session 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
