Dear Council Member: ROGER CORNETT Mayor THOMAS S. MILLIGAN City Attorney This ordinance appropriates money in the Animal Control Fund which has been accumulated from the sale of animal registration tags. No expenditures were budgeted from this fund when the 1995 budget was enacted. $500 is being appropriated for the purchase of animal registration tags and $500 is being appropriated for medical services to animals picked up by the Animal Control Officer. This ordinance also appropriates unexpended appropriations in the Cumulative Capital Development Fund, the Local Road & Street Fund, and the Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund which lapsed at the end of 1994. These sums remain unappropriated in the respective funds. After reviewing the capital equipment needs of the various departments and the Street projects for 1995, it has been decided to add $101,828.00 to the Equipment account in the Cumulative Capital Development Fund, $182,704.00 to the Other Contractual Services account in the Local Road & Street Fund, and $26,834.00 to the Equipment account in the Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund. Due to the fact that this is an Additional Appropriation, a public hearing has been advertised as required by state statute. This ordinance can be adopted in a single meeting on two motions to suspend rules since the advertised public hearing will take place on first reading. Sincerely ours, Thomas S. Milligan City Attorney Enclosure TSM/ags
