RESOLUTION NO. 13-8569
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUCTION SURPLUS
VEHICLES FROM THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TO BE
SOLD TO HIGHEST BIDDER, WITH WRITTEN
NOTIFICATION TO CITY EMPLOYEES SEVEN DAYS IN
ADVANCE OF THE AUCTION; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Opa-locka Public Works Department has surplus vehicles that the City no
longer needs; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, desires to hold an auction to
dispose of the surplus vehicles; and
WHEREAS, City employees shall receive written notification seven (7) days in advance
of the auction; and
WHEREAS, any City employee who performed service and has advance specific
knowledge of a particular vehicle in the auction pool, is prohibited from bidding on said vehicle;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to authorize the City
Manager to hold an auction of the surplus vehicles, and to notify City employees of the auction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka authorizes and directs the
City Manager to auction the surplus vehicles to the highest bidder, with written notification sent
to City employees seven days in advance of the auction.

Section 3. Any City employee who performed service and has advance specific
knowledge of a particular vehicle in the auction pool, is prohibited from bidding on said vehicle.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
