A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO ASCERTAIN
WHETHER A NUISANCE IS BEING MAINTAINED
ON PROPERTY GENERALLY KNOWN AS 10826
ATLANTIC AVENUE IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD.
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Lynwood has recommended
that this City Council find that a certain premise within the City of
Lynwood may be maintained in such a way as to constitute a nuisance;
and,
WHEREAS, certain procedures are set forth in Chapter 21 of the
City Code of the City of Lynwood, pursuant to which nuisances may be
abated,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. Based upon the aforesaid recommendation of the City Manager
this Council hereby finds and determines that the following described
property may be presently being maintained in such a manner as to
constitute a nuisance. Said property is described as Lot 10, Tract
8300, City of Lynwood, more commonly known as 10826 Atlantic Avenue.
2. The conditions of said property which constitute a nuisance
are described as follows: '
(a) High and dry weeds and other combustibles are a
potential fire hazard.
(b) An eyesore to this City because it has not been
properly maintained: - ~ - - -.-~ - _ . _
(c) No attempt has been made to rehabilitate the
property.
3. The method or methods by which said conditions could be
abated include:
(a) Remove the debris in the building and scattered
around the property.
(b) Maintain the property by keeping the weeds down.
(c) Rehabilitate the structure to the extent that it
would be a useful building, again.
4. This Council therefore declares its intention to conduct a
public hearing pursuant to Chapter 21 of the City Code of the City of
Lynwood to ascertain whether the above described conditions constitute
a public nuisance, the abatement of which is appropriate under the
Police power of the City of Lynwood.
5. The City Council is authorized and directed to fix the. ~~~
time and place for said public hearing and to serve and post certified
copies of this Resolution in the manner set forth in Section 21-18
of the Lynwood City Code. i
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Lynwood held on the fifth day of June, 1979.
