HomeMy Public PortalAbout13-8572 Eliminate the City Commission's for the Manager to Apply for Grants Sponsored by: Commissioner Holmes RESOLUTION NO. 13-8572 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO ELIMINATE THE CITY COMMISSION'S APPROVAL FOR THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR GRANTS, BUT NOT ELIMINATE THE CITY COMMISSION'S APPROVAL OF ACCEPTANCE OF SUCH GRANTS; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, approval by the City Commission shall not be required in order for the City Manager to apply for grants; and WHEREAS, this resolution does not alter the requirement of City Commission approval regarding the acceptance of such grants. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby eliminates the need for the City Commission's approval for the City Manager to apply for grants, but does not eliminate the requirements of the City Commission's approval of acceptance of such grants. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of March, 2013.
