HomeMy Public PortalAbout1993-006Member Lynne Theis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 93-06 RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT NO. 1-$ WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Medina (City) has previously established Development District No. 1 (Development District) pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, § 469.124 through 469.134 and has also established Tax Increment Financing District Nos. 1-1 through 1-6 within the Development District pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, § 469.174 through 469.179;and WHEREAS, the City finds that it is desirable and in the public interest to establish a seventh tax increment financing district ( Tax Increment Financing District No. 1-8) in order to carry out the purposes and intent of the Development District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota as follows: 1. The city attorney is hereby authorized and directed to prepare a tax increment financing plan (Plan) for Tax Increment Financing District No. 1-8 and to file a copy thereof with the city clerk -treasurer. 2. The city clerk -treasurer is authorized and directed to prepare a notice for publication in the official newspaper setting a public hearing on the Plan before the city council on the 4th day of May, 1993, at 7: So p.m. in the council chambers. The notice shall be published in the newspaper at least 10 but not more than 30 days prior to the public hearing. 3. The city attorney is hereby authorized and directed to submit the Plan to the school board and Hennepin County for comment at least 30 days prior to the public hearing and to notify the same of the time and place of the hearing on the Plan to be held before the city council. RHB50497 ME230-48 l 4. The city staff and consultants are authorized and directed to take all other actions necessary to bring the Plan before the city council at the time of the public hearing. Theis, Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Johnson. and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof : Councilmembers Ferris, Johnson, Thies, Zietlow and Mayor Theis. and the following voted against same: None .
